BowlyGo is southeast Calgary’s own food delivery app. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it and how you can see, correct or delete it.
Who we are
BowlyGo is operated by [legal entity name], [address], Calgary, Alberta. Our privacy officer is [name], who you can reach at admin@bowlygo.ca.
What we collect and why
If you order food:
- Your name, phone number and, if you choose, your email, so you can sign in and we can send order updates and receipts.
- Your delivery addresses and instructions, so a driver can find you.
- Your orders, reviews and support messages, so we can deliver, keep receipts and help when something goes wrong.
- Payment details are collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
If you drive for BowlyGo:
- Your name, photo, phone number, vehicle details and the documents needed to confirm you can drive safely (licence, insurance and background-check results).
- Your shifts, earnings and tax details, so we can pay you and meet our tax obligations.
- Your location while you are on shift and delivering, so we can assign deliveries and show customers where their order is. We do not track you when you are off shift.
- Delivery photos, as proof that an order arrived.
If you run a restaurant on BowlyGo:
- Owner and manager contact details, business and tax details, and bank details (held by Stripe) so we can pay you.
Who sees your information
- Restaurants see your first name and order. Drivers see your first name and address only while delivering your order. Customers see their driver’s first name, photo and vehicle during the delivery.
- Phone calls and messages between customers, drivers and restaurants go through masked numbers, so nobody sees anyone else’s real phone number.
- Service providers that help us run BowlyGo process information on our behalf and only for that purpose: Stripe (payments), Twilio (text messages and calls), Google (maps and directions), Amazon Web Services (hosting in Canada) and [others to be listed].
- We never sell your personal information or share it with anyone for advertising.
- We may disclose information when the law requires it.
Where we store it
Your information is stored in Canada (Amazon Web Services, Calgary). Some service providers may process limited information outside Canada; [list which and where, for example Stripe and Twilio in the United States].
How we protect it
Your name, phone number, email and address are stored in an encrypted vault, separate from your orders. Access is limited to the people who need it for their job, and every access to sensitive records is logged.
How long we keep it
| Information | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Your account and addresses | While your account is open; deleted within 30 days after you ask us to delete it |
| Order and payment records | 7 years, as tax law requires (without your name once your account is deleted) |
| Driver location during deliveries | 90 days, or longer only while a dispute about that order is open |
| Delivery photos | 90 days |
| Support messages and call records (calls are not recorded) | 1 year |
| Driver documents | While the driver is active, plus 2 years |
Your choices and rights
- See or correct your information: ask us at admin@bowlygo.ca or in the app. We will reply within 30 days.
- Delete your account: in the app or by email. We delete your personal information within 30 days, except records the law requires us to keep.
- Marketing messages: we only send marketing messages if you opt in, and every message has a way to unsubscribe. Order updates are not marketing and are always sent.
- Location: customers can use BowlyGo without sharing their location by typing an address.
- Complaints: contact our privacy officer first. You can also contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
